Here are the first pictures of the Pug's piglets, our large black cross British Lop piglets - hopefully the first of many!
We are even thinking of inventing a whole new breed of pig - it was only in the last 200 years that the "pure breeds" we know today came into existence, produced from refining the characteristics found in pigs of local areas. In fact the country was littered with numerous examples of breeds that never quite made it to becoming established, and then some of these have become extinct such as the Dorset Gold Tip and the Yorkshire Blue & White.
But what to call this new breed? They all have black splodges on their bums and around their eyes as if their mascara has run. We were hoping that the cross might give chequered pigs...
